Zimmerman Grain Dryers were first conceived by Walter Zimmerman of Litchfield, IL in 1963. As early as 1966, Mr. Zimmerman realized the need for high quality, long lasting components in the design and construction of his grain dryers. At that time, he began a relationship with the leading manufacturers of commercial blowers and burners which remains today.
In the early 1970's as the commercial grain industry grew, so did its need for higher capacity dryers with greater drying efficiencies and improved pollution controls. Mr. Zimmerman addressed these concerns and developed the forerunner of today's Zimmerman Dryers. Always the industry leader, Walter Zimmerman, using keen foresight, developed concepts years ahead of the industry's standards; vacuum cooling, stainless steel sidewall sheets, and dryers developed for efficiency, cleanliness, and high capacity.
Today, Walter Zimmerman's tradition of providing commercial grain dryers incorporating innovative engineering, premium components, and the highest regarded service program available continues under the ownership of The GSI Group, Inc., a world-class manufacturer and provider of agricultural equipment and services around the globe.
